Eyelid correction
Blepharoplasty or upper eyelid surgery is one of the most frequent operations performed in aesthetic and plastic surgeries.
What’s the problem?
EXCESS SKIN
The upper eyelids usually begin to droop after the age of thirty, but even at a young age, excessive fat storage can appear on the lower and upper eyelids which make the eyelids swell and cause the person to appear “older” and “sadder”.
Excessive skin on upper eyelids can also cause a functional defect as well as a cosmetic defect, when the drooping skin limits the field of vision.
Blepharoplasty (eyelid surgery) is suitable for women and men. With the correct technical procedure and detailed finish, this surgery refreshes and rejuvenates the whole face.

What happens during surgery?
Changes linked to skin wrinkling are reduced or removed by eyelid surgery
BLEPHAROPLASTY

This removes the excessive skin on the upper or lower eyelids, in some cases together with fat corpuscles and part of the muscle which creates folds on the lower eyelid.
- The surgery is performed under local anaesthetic administered as a subcutaneous injection
- The main part of the surgery is the removal of excess skin on the eyelids.
- The scars are within the fold of skin above the upper eyelid and just below the eyelashes on the lower eyelid. They are practically invisible when the eyes are open
- The surgery takes 1 to 2 hours

Post-operative situation and care
After the surgery, swelling and bruises almost always appear. These can usually be partially concealed with corrector make-up.
Approximately one hour after the surgery, the patient leaves for home treatment after having been informed of the required post-operative care.
We usually remove the stitches on the seventh day. Until the stitches are removed, we recommend avoiding the contact of the eyelids with water.
